Development fees at the rate of Rs. 250 will be charged in Sonipat City

The development fees charged for no dues by the municipality is soon going to start again. This time the rates for this are increased from Rs. 120 to Rs. 250. This rule will be started with the report of regularizing of 22 unregularized colonies. After the announcement of the new colonies the boundaries of municipality and DTP department will be set due to which the at the time of acquiring NOC the people will not harassed unnecessarily.

The instructions regarding this will soon be arriving in all districts. As of now this charge is levied on the properties which have their house map passed by the committee. Prior to this the municipality charged development fees from vacant plots and built building for 7 years. Now that the power to provide NOC is handed over to DTP department the municipality’s income of Rs. 5 crores annually has stopped.

Earlier the development fees Rs. 60 and after that Rs. 80 and after that Rs. 120 was charged per sq. yards. Now it is proposed to be raised up to Rs. 250. Past days in urban unit department’s meeting it was discussed that the development fees for old city should be kept Rs. 120 and for the newly approved colonies it should be raised to Rs. 250 per sq. yards.
